I.N.J.A.M. "It's Not Just About Me"

Tony Crow worked for TXU for 20 plus years. During this time he attended numerous safety meetings. He heard and knew the list of safety rules. They were so ingrained that he instinctively followed them. They became second nature to him.
But on February 15, 2003, while enjoying his favorite hobby, quail hunting, Tony was accidentally shot. He was totally blinded for life. Tony's life drastically changed that day, as well as the lives of his family and friends. When we think of people who have been in accidents, we don't consider how it will affect those closest to them. Everything about Tony and his family's lifestyle has had to change.
Tony believes leadership is best shown by example. He shares his thoughts on safety as well as leadership in the workplace, at home and through everyday life.
Tony models his personal philosophies at home, church, and in the community. Life's journey is not always easy, but Tony's attitude is great! With the help of his leader dog, Rudy, Tony still helps out on his 125 acre farm. He has let life's difficulties make him better, not bitter.

Safety and Health in the Tourism/Hospitality Industry

This presentation will cover both workplace safety as well as general liability issues posed by the operation of a resort/theme park. The Entertainment/Hospitality industry has a host of typical safety and health concerns, along with some much more unusual safety and health issues presented as a result of the "nature of the business." Learning outcomes include:
• Understanding worker exposures and regulatory compliance issues.
• Understanding hazard mitigation, Entertainment/Hospitality industry standards and practices.
• Understanding the similarities to general industry and construction and some of the more "wild" differences.

Active Shooter

In this session, David will cover situational awareness, including having an environmental baseline, exit and entry points, best vantage points, cover vs. concealment, and weapons. This session will also discuss the OODA loop (observe, orient, decide, act), how an active shooter chooses their target(s), the crime of opportunity, specific targets, surveillance indicators, behavioral indicators, and the "see something say something" campaign. The run/hide/fight active shooter video will also be shown. David DiTullio is the Owner and Chief Operations Officer of Defensor, Inc., a Firearms Training Academy located on Grand Island, NY.

His lecture details a personal account of the accident and how it affected every aspect of his personal and professional life for many years. During the presentation, Ron stresses the importance of avoiding false urgency and taking the proper safety precautions.
