Flu Prevention Tips
The absolute #1 rule of flu prevention is to make sure to wash your hands correctly and often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
Get yourself a flu shot, everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine every year before flu activity begins in their community. CDC recommends getting vaccinated by the end of October.
Make sure and cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use a tissue and make sure to throw it away after use.
If you do get sick, don't make it worse by going to work or school. If you are experiencing flu like symptoms with a fever, you should avoid others for at least 24 hours or until the fever is gone.
