Unfortunately in February of 2023, the week before his 10th birthday, we got the worst news imaginable… Liam’s cancer is back, and this time it’s leukemia. Liam will need a bone marrow transplant this time, this is his only option. After another 30 day stay in Oishei receiving even stronger chemo, Liam was able to come home and finish out some of 4th grade. The doctors spent months finding a bone marrow match for Liam and finally after months of chemo, full body radiation and a few hospital stays, Liam underwent his life saving bone marrow transplant on June 9th!! After spending another 9 weeks inpatient he was finally ready to come home! Liam is now post transplant day 133!! Liam is the same fun loving, energetic, 10 year old boy… he is staying busy with school work, gaming with friends and of course spending time with family! Liam still has a very long road ahead of him, we take on every challenge as it comes. We thank god everyday for everything Liam has been able to overcome thus far, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him! Donating pajamas to the kids at Oishei has always been near and dear to Liam, he actually got to see for himself while he was there, the positive affect his pajamas had on some of the kids on floor 12! The huge donation last year supported families all over the hospital, and brought so much comfort to kids in need. They are in desperate need again… they are down to their last 2 boxes they just informed me this morning! - Liz Lynch
